HOME / Singapore solar Energy Storage Project - SCM INDUSTRIES BESSSingapore has surpassed its 2025 energy storage deployment target three years early, with the official opening of the biggest battery storage project in Southeast Asia. The opening was hosted by the 200MW/285MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project's developer Sembcorp, together with Singapore's Energy Market Authority (EMA).
3. Singapore's Largest Ground-Mounted Solar Installation The Sembcorp Jurong Island Solar Farm, with an installed capacity of 118 MWp, is Singapore's largest ground-mounted solar project to date.
EMA's Director of Industry Development Jeanette Lim said that the energy storage system had to be completed by December last year in order to provide energy, reserves and regulation services to enhance Singapore's grid resilience, to manage any protracted market and energy supply volatility.
The solar farm generates clean energy sufficient to power approximately 33,200 four-room HDB flats annually. This capacity represents a significant contribution to Singapore's renewable energy goals and demonstrates the potential for large-scale solar installations in industrial areas.
Sembcorp boosts Jurong Island''s ESS capacity and inaugurates Singapore''s largest solar farm, advancing the nation''s clean energy transition.
